Doha: With the vision of promoting the concept of global citizenship among the students, Rajagiri Public School (RPS) is organising a series of online interactions with various schools across the five continents.
The first one in the series was held on Thursday. May 5, with Sol Platjee Secondary School, South Africa.
The interactions are aimed at creating awareness among the students, helping them to understand the wider world and their place in it, which will motivate them to take an active role in their community, and work with others to make our planet more peaceful, sustainable and fairer.
Nidhwa Niwas, a student who participated in the interaction, said that she was much impressed by the African philosophy of Ubuntu which the students of Sol Platjee School unfurled before them.
The students are planning to illustrate the idea of Ubuntu and release it as a video. “It is a philosophy which everyone of us should adopt,” said another student Nuwaira.
Students of RPS presented the culture and tradition of Qatar in real patriotic fervour.
The power point presentation of different stadiums and the world cup mascot La’eeb was well appreciated by the students of Sol Platjee School and they expressed their desire to visit Qatar during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Sanjeev Kumar, Principal of RPS, delivered the inaugural address. Sindhu Mathews, Principal of Sol Platjee School and S. Radhakrinan-Principal of Rajagiri Public School felicitated the students.
