Singapore--A welcome late strike from under-fire striker Sahil Suhaimi put the seal on Singapore's 3-1 win over Cambodia on Monday as the hosts kept their SEA Games hopes alive.

Sahil buried a through-ball in the last minute to round off a convincing victory which left Singapore second in Pool A before Indonesia play the Philippines on Tuesday.

With Myanmar already into the semi-finals, Singapore and Indonesia are fighting it out for the other berth and will play each other in their final group game on Thursday.

Singapore scored twice in first-half injury time, first through Safirul Sulaiman's sumptuous free kick before Faris Ramli nodded in a rebounding, loose ball a minute later.

Cambodia hit back through Chan Vathanaka on 57 minutes but they couldn't find the net again and Sahil, criticised for his profligacy so far in the tournament, took advantage of large gaps at the back to end it 3-1.

Elsewhere Malaysia beat Brunei 2-0 in a Pool B match with little at stake with both teams already eliminated.
