Doha, Qatar: On World Oceans Day, June 8, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) in Qatar invites everyone to celebrate and protect the country's ocean environment.

The country has the world's largest group of whale sharks and the second-largest group of dugongs, also known as "sea cows”, the ministry said on its social media as it shared a video of school of sharks.

Qatar's waters are also home to many other sea animals, like rays, dolphins, and sea turtles.

MoECC requests people's cooperation by using less plastic, throwing away trash properly, and supporting fishing that doesn't harm the environment.

By working together, MoECC hopes to keep the country's sea life healthy and beautiful for years to come.
