Doha: The Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province Shahbaz Sharif will arrive in Qatar today, a Pakistan embassy official said yesterday.
He will extend greetings to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani as a special envoy of the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is also his brother, and also meet the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Sharif, who is also a senior member of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N), will be accompanied by a Pakistani delegation which will include the Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The delegation is expected to discuss issues to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar and also meet the Minster of Energy and Industry, H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada. There are also plans to have an interactive session with Pakistanis working in the field of energy and finance in Qatar.
