Doha: Within the framework of cooperation between municipalities and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Al Rayyan Municipality launched a campaign in cooperation with the Department of Consumer Protection and the Department of Commercial Licences and inspected slaughterhouses and shopping complexes in Muaither North — Commercial Street and Umm Al Dom Street.
Many violations of labour hygiene and health requirements were detected.
Some tools used in slaughterhouses such as cutting boards were disposed of due to their invalidity, and foodstuff unfit for human consumption seized and a report was issued. The campaign will continue throughout Ramadan.
