Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to the President of Comoros, Dr Eklil Zanin, on his country’s Independence Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
Sudan President arriving today
Doha: President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bashir of Sudan is arriving today on a fraternal visit to Qatar.
Meanwhile, in Khartoum, Al Bashir met the Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah who was on a day’s visit to Sudan. They reviewed ways of strengthening relations and issues of common concern. Dr Al Attiyah, in a statement with his Sudanese counterpart Ali Karti, stressed the need to take relations to advanced levels.
Minister leaves for Belarus
Doha: The Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Major-General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah yesterday left for Belarus on an official visit. He was seen off by Chief of Staff Air Vice-Marshall Ghanim bin Shaheen Al Ghanim and other officers. QNA
