Doha: International Bank of Qatar (ibq) and W Doha Hotel and Residences joined hands for the fifth consecutive year to host Iftar for elderly patients of Al Rumeilah Hospital as part of the bank’s annual ‘Do Good Deeds’ campaign to celebrate Ramadan.
Ten families were honoured by ibq for efforts and dedication to providing companionship and care to hospitalised relatives and creating a positive environment for them.
Jabra Ghandour, Managing Director, ibq, said: “Providing care and support for the elderly underlines the values of our culture.
“Hosting this Iftar for the elderly at the hospital is in appreciation for services they offered to our community throughout their lives.
“We thank them for providing us with the opportunity to host them at this event.” The campaign was launched in 2009 with events at which ibq staff members volunteer for charitable and social initiatives. Activities are planned to reach out to people from all walks of the community. the peninsula
