Beirut: Three Lebanese soldiers were injured in an ammunition explosion in southern Lebanon.

In a statement today, the Lebanese Army said that the three soldiers were wounded while working to dismantle unexploded ordnance in the town of Zawtar El Gharbiyeh in southern Lebanon, noting that one of them sustained moderate injuries.

The Lebanese Army deployed to Zawtar El Gharbiyeh following the Israeli withdrawal from the town on July 21, as it was the first area from which Israeli forces withdrew in accordance with the framework agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel on June 26.
