ISLAMABAD: President-elect Mamnoon Hussain will change the entire look of the presidency after assuming the prestigious post tomorrow.
Simplicity and austerity will be the order of the day in the President House.
Sources close to the upcoming president said yesterday that Hussain doesn’t believe in pomp and show.
He is interested in converting President House into an informal place where visitors feel at home.
Hussain doesn’t want to be introduced with reference to his cast and creed but as a Pakistani Muslim who is a proud Karachiite. He believes in staying within his limits defined in the book.
The president will be available to the government for advice whenever sought, but he isn’t interventionist, the sources pointed out. Hussain checked undue expenditure in Governor’s House in Karachi when he was Sindh Governor in the late 90s, and he plans to curtail the budget for the President’s House.
