Doha: The President and Managing Committee Members of Indian Cultural Centre has bid farewell to Mohamad Habibun Nabi a longtime Resident of Qatar who is leaving for his hometown Aligarh this week. He has been in Qatar for 24 years and a total 42 years in the Gulf including Iraq, Oman and Qatar.
S Xavier Dhanaraj, First Secretary (Consular & Community Affairs) and the Coordinating Officer of Indian Cultural Centre was the Chief Guest of the day.
He thanked Habibun Nabi for his excellent contributions to the Indian community in Qatar and later presented him with a plaque of appreciation. All the Managing Committee members of Indian Cultural Centre attended the farewell.
Habibun Nabi was working as an engineer with Kahramaa during his term in Qatar. Habibun Nabi currently is General Secretary of the Indian Sports Centre, for the last four years, an apex body under the aegis of Embassy of India.
He is an active and ardent supporter of all the apex bodies of Embassy of India, have supported, and contributed a lot of time and efforts for Indian Cultural Centre and Indian Community Benevolent Forum.
Habibun Nabi held the position of General Secretary of Indian Cultural Centre in 2008 and served as a Head of Sports in 2006. He is a sports lover and loves to work for community, especially the under-privileged section. He has also worked for promoting socio-cultural activities, which bring the community together and spreads a healthy message in the society.
Habibun Nabi expressed his gratitude to the Indian Ambassador, Embassy of India officers and staff, Managing Committee of Indian Cultural Centre and the Indian community in general for their continuous support, motivation and appreciation of all his community activities and efforts.
