Education Ministry launches third cohort of ‘Khibrat’ Teacher Fellowship Programme

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched the third cohort of the Qatari Teachers Fellowship Programme “Khibrat,” an initiative aimed at strengthening the professional and educational skills of Qatari teachers through exposure to leading regional and international teaching practices.

The programme, which was first introduced during the 2023-2024 academic year, seeks to empower Qatari male and female educators by providing them with opportunities to learn from distinguished educational experiences and apply new knowledge and practices within Qatar’s schools.

The second day of the programme’s orientation week was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education H E Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, along with ministry officials and education specialists. They reviewed the programme’s activities, content and implementation, as well as efforts to support the participants’ professional development and prepare them for the professional immersion phase.

The fellowship consists of three main stages. It begins with an orientation week in Doha, followed by a professional immersion period in Riyadh, before participants return to Doha to implement development projects reflecting the knowledge and experience gained during the fellowship.

The third cohort comprises 20 teachers specialising in Arabic language and Islamic education from government schools, in addition to eight educational supervisors from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.During the orientation week, participants are introduced to requirements of the professional immersion period, and the tasks and expected outcomes.
