Riyadh: Saudi Civil Defense confirmed this evening that the danger had passed in the areas of Najran, Jazan and Abha in southwestern Saudi Arabia, after early warnings were issued there earlier today following attacks by the Houthi group.

In a statement posted on its account on the X platform, Civil Defense called on citizens to follow instructions and refrain entirely from gathering or taking photographs in order to ensure their safety. The statement came following attacks launched by the Houthi group on these cities, which resulted in injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced that the attacks coincided with the Houthi group's continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea and its threats to freedom of international maritime navigation. It stressed the Kingdom's legitimate right to take the necessary measures to defend its sovereignty, safeguard its national assets, and preserve the security and safety of its citizens and residents in accordance with the rules of international law.
