Envoys attend ‘safety week’ at QP District Project

Doha: Members of the diplomatic community visited the Qatar Petroleum District Project (QPD) construction site recently to mark the end of Bouygues Batiment “Safety Week” and to help drive home the message of working safely to the project staff.

Those who were present at the event’s closing ceremony included Jean-Christophe Peaucelle, Ambassador of France; Mohamed Morsi, Ambassador of Egypt; Crescente R Relacion, Ambassador of the Philippines; Dr Maya Kumari Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal; Munir Ghanam, Ambassador of Palestine; and Anil Nautiyal, who represented the Embassy of India.

Engr Salah Eldin Abdellatief Mousa and Hazem Laksin, who represented the Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Labour also attended the fuction. They were joined by the client representatives Mohammed Ismail Al Emadi, Director of Group Real Estate Development of Barwa Real Estate, and Khalid Abdulla Al Hitmi, CEO of the Barwa Financial District, who delivered a speech on the importance of safety to the workforce. 

Bouygues Batiment International initiated the Safety Week campaign from its headquarters in Paris, France, to raise the level of safety awareness across its 500 active projects worldwide. The campaign’s slogan “Committed to Safety” was chosen to drive home the message from Chairman and CEO, Olivier Marie Racine, to all staff, that safety is permanently incorporated into the daily work planning and into every stage of construction.
