107 militants die in Afghan army raids

Kabul: A total of 107 Taliban militants were killed and many detained in the past one week across the country, the Interior Ministry said late on Sunday. A spokesman, Sediq Sediqi, said several operations were conducted by Afghan security forces across the country. 
He said nearly 6,600kg  of explosives were discovered and seized during operations. 
He did not provide details of the locations of operations but said operations were conducted in various provinces.
Ancient stupa being restored
ISLAMABAD: The ancient and famous stupa in Pakistan’s northwestern tourist point of Saidu Sharif will be opened to Buddhists and other tourists after completion of its repair work by the end of November this year, officials said yesterday.
