SAN SALVADOR: HE Qatar's Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali bin Fahad Al-Hajri has met with Salvadoran Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaime Miranda.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them.
HE the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs also held political consultations with Salvadoran Vice Foreign Minister for Economic Relations Carlos Castaneda.
During the consultations, they discussed bilateral relations, particularly in the political, economic and cultural fields.
Several agreements were also signed between the two sides during the consultations, including a cooperation agreement in the field of culture.
A Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Olympic Committee and the Salvadoran Sports Commission in the field of sport.
A Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Islamic Bank and El Salvador's Central Reserve Bank 2013 and a Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and El Salvador Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The two sides also signed the minutes of the political consultations' meeting between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
Meanwhile, Salvadoran Foreign Minister held a luncheon in honor of HE Qatar's Assistant Foreign Minister in the presence of the First Lady of El Salvador Vanda Pignato and Salvadoran Vice Foreign Minister.
The meetings and luncheon were attended by HE Qatari Ambassador to El Salvador Abdurrahman bin Mohammed Al-Dossari, HE Director of American Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry Zayed bin Rashid Al-Nuaimi, HE the Representative of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Saeed bu Sherbak, members of the Qatari Embassy in San Salvador and a number of officials at the Foreign Ministry.
