Emergency Department receives 1,400 cases

DOHA: The Emergency Department at Hamad General Hospital (HGH) yesterday treated 10 people injured in minor road accidents.
The department also received  several cases of heat exhaustion apparently involving people spending holidays outdoors.
The department received 1,400 cases  between 6am and 6pm, showing an increase by 100 cases compared to Monday, Al Sharq reported.
All those injured in road accidents were discharged on the same day after treatment, the daily said, quoting a senior consultant at the department.
As on other days since the beginning of the Eid Al Adha holidays, majority of visitors complained of stomach-related problems.
The department also received several diabetics who developed complications due to high consumption of meat and sweets during the holidays.
