The Qatar Sailing and Marine Sports Federation (QSMF) will be hosting the 1st GCC Rowing Championship 2016 at the Doha Corniche from November 11 to 12.
The tournament, which will be held under the auspices of the GCC Sailing and Rowing Federation, will involve the participation of all the GCC member states Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and host Qatar, according to Qatar Olympic Committee.
Participants will compete in four disciplines including Women's Solo (CW1X), Men's Solo (CM1X), Men's Double Sculls (CM2X) and Men's Coxed Quadruple Sculls (CM4X+) during the two-day event.
QSMF President Khalifa Mohammed al Sewaidi said "Qatar is proud to host the maiden edition of this event. The competition will further help in developing the sport in the region besides fostering brotherly fraternity. As organisers, every hands are already on the deck to ensure a very successful outing and we believe the athletes will have a wonderful time in Doha."
