DOHA: The recently inaugurated Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College features some of the most technologically-advanced props in the world. Most training courses offered by it are accredited by the US-based ‘ProBoard’, the National Board on fire Service Professional Qualifications.
Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is the training partner and provider of emergency training at the college. TEEX is known for advanced practical emergency and safety training.
In its initial phase, the college will offer training and courses in fire emergency and safety, industrial firefighting, search and rescue, hazardous materials, emergency medical services, and civil defence and aviation, while additional courses in health, safety and environment, public safety, and business continuity will further enrich its subject list at a later stage, said a press statement yesterday.
The college was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani on November 12. Last week, it hosted journalists to showcase world-class facilities and infrastructure.
It will provide advanced training to professionals in the oil, gas, petrochemical, civil defence, civil and military aviation, and other sectors in Qatar, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
