DOHA: Qatar Foundation for Education (QF) is welcoming visitors to a special tent at Darb El Saai as part of National Day celebrations over almost two weeks.
The tent will feature activities, showcasing QF’s support for the national identity and nurturing the sense of belonging.
From today until December 20, the tent will include interactive activities by QF’s members and centres for young people. Activities are colour-coded to demonstrate the purpose of each.
There are also exhibits and musical shows, highlighting QF’s cycle that starts with instilling the love of learning in young people, a reading corner to introduce them to Qatari heritage to create a bond with Qatar’s culture and history.
QF member Al Shaqab will give special riding and grooming lessons and horse healthcare tips to allow visitors to explore the world of horses, rooted in Qatari heritage.
To help children choose a career path that serves national development, the tent offers class activities on many professions.
QF Radio, QF’s in-house broadcast station, will provide children with the opportunity to play the role of a radio reporter and interview visitors. It will also provide special coverage, featuring programmes and live broadcasts from the venue on its Arabic channel on 93.7 FM and English channel on 91.7 FM.
Activities include leading children into the tent to the sound of the Qatar Leadership Academy Chorus’ rendition of the National Anthem, and exhibits for schools.
Inside the tent, children will be quizzed at various stages with the opportunity to win prizes.
The tent will also provide visitors with opportunities to participate in arts and crafts workshops.
