Qatar Stock Exchange’s benchmark index gained 140.20 points last week

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 140.20 points, or 1.41 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,053.95 points.
Trading value during last  week decreased by 13.11 percent to reach QR1.30bn compared to QR1.49bn registered at the end of the previous week. Trading volume decreased by 28.84 percent to reach 46,574,760 shares, as against 65.45 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 3.41 percent, to reach 16,042 transactions as compared to 16,608 transactions.
Market cap rose by 1.17 percent to reach QR540.14bn compared to QR533.88bn at the end of previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 26.19 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 18.72 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 15.39 percent and Insurance sector accounted for 13.72 percent.
Telecoms sector led traded volume last week with 36.16 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.27 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 19.20 percent and Industries sector accounted for 9.96 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions  last week with 27.58 percent of the total number of transactions. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.89 percent. Industries sector accounted for 18.61 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 14.53 percent.
Of the 44 companies listed, 31 ended last week higher, while nine fell and four remained unchanged. Vodafone Qatar led trading value last week accounted for 11.85 percent of the total traded value. Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance accounted for 7.68 percent and QNB accounted for 7.38 percent, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE’s main index dropped 64.66 points, or 0.65 percent yesterday.  The volume of shares traded yesterday increased to 11,073,717 from 6,408,090 on Wednesday and the value of shares also increased to QR378.86m from QR191.57m on Wednesday.
Of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 40 saw trading yesterday. Of these 18 gained and 15 companies closed lower, and seven remained unchanged.
Indices of all seven sectors ended in the green yesterday.
