Campaigning for CMC poll banned at religious sites

DOHA: The Supervisory Committee for the Central Municipal Council (CMC) elections has banned the candidates from campaigning at religious places, educational facilities and government buildings.
They have also been banned from putting banners, stickers and pictures at lampposts, telephone towers and polling stations as part of the campaigning, Al Sharq reported.
The panel has made it mandatory for the candidates to obtain permission from the media committee for the elections before launching their campaigns.
Those transferred to the reserve force and could not complete two years in service should not participate in the election as voters or candidates.
