Doha: Ali Rashid Al Muhannadi edged Viascheslav Skoromnov in a close finish to win the 50m Rifle Prone Men’s at the Qatar Cup here yesterday.
Skoromnov finished second while Mohammed Sadd Al Mubarak came third at the Losail Shooting Range in the championship organised by Qatar Shooting and Archery Assocaition.
In the girls section, Mehbubeh Akhlaghi took the gold followed by Bahiya Mansour Al Hamad and Matara Fahad Al Assieri, in second and third place respectively.
In the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol for men, Ivan Bidniak topped, while Oleg Engachov finished second. Maltsev Konstantin finished third.
The championship ends on January 18.
