Applicants line up for exchange house licences

Doha: A lot of Qatari businessmen have applied for licences to open exchange houses. The applications were submitted after the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani directed Qatar Central Bank (QCB) to consider issuing of new licences to Qataris to operate the exchange house.  Juma Al Madadi Chief Executive Officer of Al Dar Exchange told Al Sharq that the Qatar market needs more exchange houses because of the huge rise in the population and due to the implementation of big projects related to the upcoming football World Cup 2022. 
Al Madadi added that the directive of Emir to the QCB for issuing licences will contribute to the development of the market and will promote healthy competition which will serve everyone.
