Doha: The National Commission for Qualifications and Academic Accreditation yesterday discussed a number of topics on its agenda in its second meeting in 2023.
The meeting dealt with key topics including the report of the sub-committee concerned with developing institutional accreditation standards for higher education institutions, and the sub-committee that works on developing accreditation policies and related procedures, as well as dealing with proposals on the identity of the committee and the related institutional values.
The commission is guided by the development of institutional accreditation standards with the best international practices in this field. It also focuses on the specificity of higher education institutions in the country and the diversity of the higher education sector.
In a statement, the commission said that it will work in 2023 to develop mechanisms for harmonizing the national framework for qualifications and the higher education institutions programmes, and to develop plans and mechanisms for accreditation programme in various disciplines.
