The Mekaines farm not only grows fodder, it is also a haven for hundreds of species of birds who provide a stunning spectacle to birdwatchers in Qatar.
Located 55km from Doha, it is a 12-square-kilometre patch of green in the desert where around 220 species of birds have been spotted by birdwatchers in the past six years. Permission is required to go birdwatching in the farm.
