ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan played conciliatory role in patch-up between cricketer Umar Akmal and Lahore police warden who booked him in offence of traffic violation and in the process they had a scuffle. It led to registration of criminal case and Umar Akaml had to face detention in judicial lock up briefly.
Later Umar Akmal filed suit against the warden in a local court. Both the cases were pending as Umar Akmal had gone to Dhaka to play Asian ODI championship. The trial court issued arrest warrant of Umar last week.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan was approached by Umar’s brother Kamran Akmal early this month when he came to Islamabad for playing a match that was also played by Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan.
Chaudhary asked the administration to put up efforts for dignified settlement without compromising any law. INTERNEWS
