DOHA: Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) has announced Faisal Rashid Al Sahouti’s appointment as CEO.
He joined the centre in 2011 and received legal training in Qatar and the UK and obtained a Master’s in law from Nottingham University.
Al Sahouti replaces Robert Musgrove, who was previously CEO of Civil Justice Council of England and Wales and has served as CEO of the centre for nearly four years.
During his time as CEO, Musgrove had been responsible for considerable progress at the centre, including the courtroom’s official opening, development of case management and IT systems, the Qatar Law Forum 2012 on the rule of law, mediation training and collaborative work on legal education.
Lord Phillips, President of the centre and former president of the UK Supreme Court, said: “I am delighted to welcome Al Sahouti’s appointment as CEO. He will work with me, Sir David Keene, who chairs the Regulatory Tribunal, Judge Hassan Abdulrahim Y H Al Sayed at the centre and the registrar. The court has a reputation for independence, international expertise, and excellence. With the help of Al Sahouti we look forward to further development of the court.
