New York, April 09 (QNA) - The UN Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) member states elected the State of Qatar a member of the UN ECOSOC's Statistical Commission for a four-year term beginning from 2016 to represent the Asia-Pacific Group.
Qatar was also elected, through a secret ballot, a member of the UN ECOSOC's Commission on Narcotic Drugs for a period of four years to represent the Asia-Pacific Group. Qatar received 49 votes of the 54 total votes of the UN ECOSOC member states. (QNA)
