Doha: On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Dadu, Children’s Museum in Qatar held a Garangao event in the Hamad Medical City Clubhouse on April 6 for the families of public health workers, further cementing its accessibility and inclusiveness efforts in reaching to the public.

During the celebration, children explored Islam and Muslim culture, science, and wellness, through hands-on activities - in line with two of the museum’s strategic learning aims – heritage and culture; and health and wellness.

The activities included Hzah (traditional storytelling); Alseegah (where children will learn about the historical significance of the crescent moon and how Qatari jewellery has incorporated the shape into its designs); Almsahar drumming (learning about its historical significance and a percussion-making activity); Gasaa (traditional henna painting) and Fawazeer (encouraging participants to explore and learn about other cultures observing during Ramadan), as well as an interactive cooking station facilitated by the Qatari’ Women’s Association.
