Beijing - Consumer inflation in China rose to 1.5 percent in April, authorities said Saturday, potentially easing concerns over deflation in the world's second-largest economy.

The rise in the consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, released by the National Bureau of Statistics was slightly higher than March's 1.4 percent figure.
