Buying support buoys equity markets

Mumbai:  The Indian equity markets traded on a flat-to-positive note during the early morning trade session on Tuesday, as healthy buying was witnessed in banking, auto, capital goods and consumer durables stocks.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) inched up by 15.20 points or 0.16 per cent to 9,329.25 points.

The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE traded higher by 53.39 points or 0.18 per cent. It opened at 29,977.50 points, traded at 29,979.54 points (around 9.30 a.m.) from its previous close at 29,926.15 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 30,008.35 points and a low of 29,953.83 points during the intra-day trade so far.
