KABUL: Afghan police and army backed by the NATO-led coalition forces have killed 27 Taliban militants and detained 25 others in operations since, said the Afghan Interior Ministry on Sunday.
Eight armed Taliban militants were also wounded in the operations conducted in Sari Pul, Balkh, Wardak, Ghazni, Paktiya, Herat and Helmand provinces, the ministry said in a statement without saying if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.
Figures released by the interior ministry showed more than 270 insurgents have been killed, 66 wounded and nearly 80 detained during military operations so far this month across the country. (QNA)
