SCH symposium to mark second year of National Health Strategy

Doha: To mark the completion of two years of the National Health Strategy 2011- 2016 (NHS), the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), will host “The National Health Strategy Two Years On - Building the Future Together” event tomorrow at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

The NHS forms part of the wider National Development Strategy 2011-2016, created to help deliver the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. 

Under the NHS, Qataris and residents will enjoy better health services, have greater choice and will be more aware of their role in managing their well-being and health. 

The NHS, comprising 39 projects, is a partnership of SCH, Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Healthcare Corporation, in collaboration with over 50 organisations.

The event will enhance the understanding of the NHS and highlight the significant transformations the NHS is bringing to various health providers and stakeholders  including health insurance, mental health, primary healthcare and public healthcare. The Minister of Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health, H E Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani ,will be speaking on key achievements of the NHS, and share his vision of Qatar’s healthcare system.

Keynote speaker Dr Cristian C Baeza will apply his global experience in building and financing health systems to Qatar’s recent health transformation, and, select speakers from different areas of healthcare will also share their achievements and experiences under the NHS. QNA
