Amsterdam: Minister of Municipality HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah took part in the inauguration of the "GreenTech Amsterdam 2026" Expo in Amsterdam.
Running until June 11, 2026, the event positions itself as one of the preeminent expos specializing in Agri-Tech, innovation, and food security, positioning itself as a global platform that gathers governments, enterprises, firms, and experts from around the globe.

Once converged at this forum, those entities engage in deliberations on the cutting-edge technologies utilized in the fields of modern agriculture, horticulture, agricultural sustainability, and food security, thereby reinforcing knowledge and expertise exchange and exploring cooperation opportunities and international partnerships.
During the official tour of the exhibition by distinguished guests, HE the Minister was briefed on the latest innovations and technological solutions in the fields of smart agriculture, greenhouses, and water-resource management.
He was also briefed on AI applications leveraged in the agricultural sector. These advanced solutions are designed to supercharge productivity, enhance the management of natural resources, and promote sustainable development.
His Excellency also got acquainted with the cutting-edge AI-powered applications in the agricultural sector, which play a pivotal role in advancing food-production systems through the analysis of agricultural data, the prediction of potential challenges and risks, the enhancement of water and energy efficiency, and support for data-driven decision-making.
Such innovations are expected to forge ahead with the modernization of the sector while opening new horizons for sustainable and innovative agricultural development.

HE the Minister of Municipality affirmed that the participation of the State of Qatar in this global event comes as part of its commitment to keeping abreast of the rapid evolution in the agricultural sector and capitalizing on cutting-edge technologies and global innovations.
The move, His Excellency noted, is intended to back Qatar's efforts to advance the food security system, turbocharge agricultural sustainability, and elevate domestic production efficiency.
In addition, the Minister spoke about the foremost initiatives and projects the State of Qatar is executing in the areas of agricultural innovation and modern technologies, along with the ongoing efforts to develop the agricultural sector and bolster its ability to confront climate-induced challenges, as well as enhance the management of natural resources in sync with the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Qatar National Vision 2030.
As part of his participation in this Expo, HE the Minister of Municipality held separate meetings with Minister for Food Security, Fisheries and Horticulture of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, HE Silvio Erkens, and Minister of Climate Change and Environment in the United Arab Emirates, HE Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak.
The meetings went over avenues for deepening mutual cooperation in the domains of modern agriculture, advanced Agri-Tech, and food security, and discussed opportunities for sharing expertise in areas related to food security and agricultural sustainability, thereby supporting efforts to enhance the agricultural sector and reinforce its sustainability.
