Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Press Center (QPC) has signed a cooperation agreement with Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR), a member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University, in a move aimed at strengthening partnerships between media and research institutions in Qatar.
The agreement seeks to support areas of mutual cooperation, advance shared objectives, and create broader opportunities for exchanging expertise and information on issues of common interest.
The agreement aims to enhance intellectual, media, and research collaboration between the two sides through the organisation of joint seminars, conferences, and forums; the preparation of studies, research papers, and analytical reports; and the exchange of scientific publications, media content, and knowledge resources. It also includes cooperation in publishing, translation, and intellectual production projects.
The partnership seeks to develop specialised training programmes in media and strategic studies, facilitate the exchange of experts and trainers, and contribute to improving the capabilities of national and media professionals while strengthening their intellectual and professional skills.
The agreement further covers the organisation of roundtable discussions, dialogue sessions, and specialised meetings, as well as hosting prominent intellectual, diplomatic, and media figures. It also provides for cooperation in organising local, regional, and international events of mutual interest and supporting the participation of both parties in international conferences and forums.
The agreement was signed by Sadiq Mohammed Al Amari, Director General of the Qatar Press Center, and Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi, Executive Director of Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR), during a ceremony held at the Abdullah Bin Hussein Al Nuaimi Hall at the center’s headquarters.
Al Amari said the agreement represents a strategic step toward building a permanent bridge between scientific research and the media, contributing to the enhancement of media, research, and knowledge content while supporting the development of cultural and academic activities at the local, regional, and international levels.
He added that the partnership would provide an integrated platform for promoting knowledge, supporting research initiatives, and enabling stakeholders to achieve their shared goals in serving society.
For his part, Dr. Al Shehhi said that signing the agreement with the Qatar Press Center marks an important step toward establishing close cooperation between the two institutions. He noted that the next phase would focus on implementing joint programmes and activities addressing a range of key issues, particularly in the political and strategic fields.
