1,656sqm plot in Al Mirqab sold for record QR250m

DOHA: A 1,656sqm plot of land in Doha was sold for QR250m at the rate of QR151,000 per sqm. This is the highest price a property in the country has fetched so far. The plot is in Al Mirqab.
Small plots meant for housing and smaller houses and villas across Qatar, including Doha, continue to dominate real estate transactions.
Ninety-four deals worth QR914.7m were concluded in the week (June 29 to July 3), details posted on the website of the Ministry of Justice show.
The ministry’s Real Estate Registration Department records all transactions and  releases weekly details.
The smallest house sold was about 165sqm in Bin Dirham in  downtown Doha. It fetched QR2.4m at the rate of QR15,384 per sqm.
The second largest deal in terms of value involved a 6,000sqm housing complex in New Salata which fetched QR107m.
Most plots, houses and villas sold in the week are in Doha, Al Dhayeen, Al Khor, Umm Salal, Al Rayyan and Al Wakra.
