Pool: Reyes keeps qualification hopes alive

Doha:  Former world champion Efren Reyes of the Philippines kept his qualifying hopes alive at the World 9-Ball Pool Championship by registering a 9-4 win over Shawn Wilke of the USA.

Reyes who lost his first match to Hsu Kai Lun of Hong Kong 9-5 on Sunday is now pinning his hopes of qualifying from the losers bracket.

Meanwhile,  Qatari players Mohanna Al Obaidly, Amir Rota and Bashar Hussein won their respective matches. 

Yesterday, Mohanna defeated his Emirati counterpart Salah Al Remawi 9-7, while Rota achieved an important 9-5 win against Han Hao Xiang of China. 

Hussain completed yet another win for the local players to keep the local fans in good spirits. He defeated Christopher Tevez of Peru 9-8.

On Sunday, Waleed Majed started on a promising note by defeating Bader Al Awadi of Kuwait 9-7. The winner of the event will get $36,000 and the runner-up $18,000.
