Doha: The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud has reiterated that Qatar is seeking to meet all the needs of people with disabilities, promote their capabilities to help them perform their role in the community and benefit from their talents and capacities in all areas of creativity.

A draft law prepared by the Human Resources Department contains provisions to enable the disabled people to carry out their jobs, Al Mahmoud said, noting that once the draft law and its regulation were ratified, they would be translated into the sign and touching language to brief the disabled people on their rights and duties to serve their homeland.

The Minister was speaking during a meeting with Ali Obeid Al Sinari, the Board Chairman of Qatar Social Cultural Centre for the Deaf.

Al Sinari invited the Minister to attend the opening of the First International Forum for the Deaf being organised by the centre in Doha on November 11-13 in cooperation with the US-based Deaf Muslim Organisation.

About 500 deaf Muslims from across the world will attend the forum.QNA
