Doha: The Interior Ministry has won the first prize in a civil defence and protection awareness film contest held by the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
The Secretary General of the council, Dr Mohammed bin Ali Koman, presented the award at the 14th Conference of Arab Civil Defence and Protection Agencies in Tunis, the ministry’s Public Relations Department said in a statement.
The Director of Logistics Department at the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Major Hussain Ibrahim Al Asmakh, received the award for the short film produced by the Public Relations Department of the ministry in association with GDCD. The film highlights marine safety procedures for seafarers and beach cleanliness.
Major Al Asmakh said: “This event is not the first time the ministry is at the forefront of security awareness.”
Arab states are very much concerned and pro-active on creating awareness in civil defence, he said, and praised the PR Department for producing the film.
