Researchers honoured for recycling projects

DOHA: Two researchers have been recognised for their innovative projects on recycling construction wastes.

Dr Mohamed bin Saif Al Kawari, Assistant Undersecretary of Laboratories and Standardisation Affairs at  the Ministry of Environment (MoE) and Dr Khaled Hasen, Chief Executive Officer of the British Transport Research Laboratory Center (TRL), have been appreciated by a committee for their main contribution to a research plan for recycling construction wastes.

They were appreciated by the organising committee of Qatar Contractors, after their work won the best innovative research in Qatar in 2013.

The research, a result of cooperation between the public and private sectors, aims  at recycling millions of tonnes of construction wastes in Qatar to produce cheap and high quality industrial materials such as bricks and interlock. Dr Hassan made displayed a summarised presentation about the research. The Peninsula
