Bishkek: Qatar’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Mohamed bin Arar Al Nuaimi, yesterday opened the Qatar Conference Hall at Mahmud Kashgari University in the capital, Bishkek.
He said Qatar’s donation for building and equipping the hall with facilities stems from ties of friendship between both countries, and its belief that education is the cornerstone of community development.
He praised bilateral relations which last month witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of education, higher education and scientific research to provide legal framework for cooperation.
The Rector of the university, Dr Ibraev Almaz, praised the important role being played by Qatar through support for educational and development projects. He thanked Qatar for providing all facilities for the hall. The opening ceremony was attended by Kyrgyz education officials, university professors, students and representatives of television channels and the media. QNA
