QIIC sets up new risk management department

Doha: Qatar Islamic Insurance Co announced the setting up of its dedicated Risk Management Department.
The department shall assume all current risk management functions and shall be responsible for Enterprise Risk Management as well as providing valuable assistance to customers in mitigating risks through risk surveys and subsequent risk improvement recommendations.
The department is headed by Muhammad Ashraf Ali Siddiqui, who earlier worked for QIIC as Asst. Manager – General Insurance. Muhammad is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London and brings with him 14 years of industry experience in the fields of underwriting, claims and risk management. Before joining QIIC in 2012, he held several management positions with top Takaful and general insurance companies in Pakistan.
Ali Ibrahim Alabdulghani, QIIC’s CEO, states “Risks are ever evolving in nature and today businesses face more risks than before. We feel it is critical to have continuous monitoring of the risks present in today’s business environment.”
