BERLIN: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 14th goal of the season gave Borussia Dortmund a 3-2 win over bitter rival Schalke in the Bundesliga's 87th Ruhr derby on Sunday.
Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter set up Japan star Shinji Kagawa to open the scoring with a header in the 30th and then restored the home side's lead in the 43rd after Klaas Jan Huntelaar had equalized in the 33rd.
Aubameyang made it 3-1 in the 48th and Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Faehrmann kept his team in the game before Huntelaar claimed his second with a classy chip in the 70th to set up a tense finale.
Tempers became frayed toward the end of the game when Faehrmann made another huge save to deny Ilkay Gundogan.
Augsburg was to host Werder Bremen later.
