
Doha: Eyeing the Qatar Stars League (QSL) title, El Jaish will not rest much during the break at the league and will play a friendly match against Al Shamal on November 13 at Al Kharaitiyat ground, it was announced yesterday.
El Jaish are currently placed on second spot at the QSL standings behind football giants Al Rayyan.
The two teams are yet to lose a match with Al Rayyan leading the table with 24 points from eighth victories after as many matches.
El Jaish have so far secured 20 points after winning six games besides a couple of draws. El Jaish crushed Mesaimeer 5-2 in their last game.
Head Coach Sabri Lamouchi (pictured) is keen to keep his men match fit and focused.
The two-week break in the QSL is due to the engagements of both the Qatar National “A” and Olympic Teams.
Meanwhile, El Jaish will resume training tomorrow after a two-day rest granted by the technical staff.
Also the technical staff gave permission for the Uzbek winger Rashidov to join his country’s national team.
El Jaish will play against Al Arabi in Round 9 of the QSL on November 21 at the Grand Hamad Stadium.
Meanwhile, Al Arabi was granted four days of rest following the Round 8 fixture against Al Kharaitiyat which ended 2-1 in favour of the Reds.
The team is scheduled to resume training sessions on Wednesday evening.
Al Arabi is also scheduled to play two friendly games during the league break which have yet to be announced. Al Arabi is in fourth position in the league table with 16 points.
