Doha: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has become the first organisation in the Middle East (in both the public and private sectors) to win three major technology awards for the second consecutive year at GITEX Technology Week 2015.
GITEX Technology Week is the largest Information Technology exhibition and conference in the Middle East. Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, the renowned IT expo was held in Dubai and saw Gulf Air, the only Bahraini organisation to participate and take home three wins: “Best Hospitality and Tourism Implementation of the Year” and “Middle East Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year” by Arabian Computer News, and “Best Project Execution of the Year in the Aviation Industry” by Enterprise Channel.
Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer Maher Salman Al Musallam said, “I’m delighted to see Gulf Air recognised yet again for their achievements. By continuously improving our information technology services, Gulf Air, as an airline, becomes progressively better equipped to provide an enhanced service to our passengers while, in tandem, boosting our internal efficiencies.”
Gulf Air’s Director of Information Technology Dr Jassim Haji said, “I’m honoured to receive these awards on behalf of Gulf Air’s Information Technology department.”
