Islamabad: Pakistan reiterated on Sunday its readiness to pursue dialogue with Afghanistan in hopes of reaching a lasting cease-fire.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said Islamabad remains a staunch advocate of peace and diplomacy, and has consistently urged that the use of force be considered only as a last resort. The ministry emphasized that all avenues for peaceful resolution should be fully explored.

Separately, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Pakistan remains committed to resolving all outstanding issues with Afghanistan through dialogue.
