Qatar National Cancer Society in association with Ideal Indian School conducted a workshop on breast cancer in the IIS premises recently.
Dr Mahasen Okasha, Chief Educator of the Society, made a presentation in which she listed the common symptoms of breast cancer and elaborated on the major causes as well as how it can be diagnosed early through various tests.
It was a very informative, interactive and enriching session. She was accompanied by Aswathy Krishnan, Secretary of the Society.
Later, children were given a simulated demonstration of examining different stages of breast cancer formation.
The programme was presided over by Dr Abraham Kolamana, Head of Health and Hygiene, and Padma Ramaswamy, Headmistress, Girls section.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kolamana appreciated the initiatives of Cancer Society and highlighted their importance.
