DOHA: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) organised a seminar for representatives of companies importing, selling and installing security surveillance cameras and systems at Marriot Hotel last week.
The seminar held by the Security Systems Department at the Ministry was aimed at introducing new regulations and procedures for the companies.
Addressing the seminar, Director of the Department Captain Jassim Al Sayed urged the participating companies to comply with the required technical standards for installation of the cameras, to avoid any loss for the owner and delay in delivery.
He also asked the companies to register the details of the shipments with the Department to avoid delays in its release at the ports. He promised that if the details are provided, a shipment will not take more than three days for release.
He briefed on the articles in the law related with surveillance cameras, where it should be fixed, standards of fixing points and the requirements for the companies that is involved in this business.
Lt Ali Al Suwaidi from the Licenses and Standards section at the Department elaborated on the regulations related with the establishments that come under the law, standards of cameras and installation places, standards of recorded pictures and surveillance rooms as well.
