Doha: As part of National Sport Day celebrations, governmental and non-governmental institutions in the state will organise variety of events in different parts of the country.
The Qatar Police Sports Federation holds different sports activities for Ministry of Interior officials in ten places unlike last year’s event whereas the QPSF had organised activities only in 5 places. The events will start at 7.00 am till 12.00 pm. The main centre of the events will be Suheim bin Hamad Stadium.
The Qatar Police Sports Federation, Military Pension Committee, Qatar Cancer Society and Centre for People with special needs at MoI will take part in the events held at Suheim bin Hamad Stadium.
The events include tug of war, arm wrestling, 100, 400 and 1600 metre race in addition to football matches and other entertainment events for kids and body fitness programmes.
Police Warehouse Department, Dukhan Security, South Security, Criminal Evidence and Information Department, Search and Follow up Department, Penal and correctional institutions, Abu Samra Border Department are also prepared to different sports activities.
Different sports activities, like collective warm up, circuit training, cycling and other recreational activities will be held for girls in Al Hidaya Secondary Girls School.
QPSF also arranged programmes in Alkhor Sports club for senior citizens and persons with special needs in coordination with Community Policing Department.
Col Adil Malallah, vice chairman of QPSF, said that the QPSF had selected places for their activities areas away from main roads and main stadiums. He urged the participants to strictly keep safety measures and to prefer walking if the places are near to their residences.
