The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has extended an invitation to Qatar to contest in the upcoming U-19 Cricket Tournament to be held in Kuwait.
According to the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA), Operations Manager, Manzoor Ahmad, the tournament is scheduled in the second week of October this year.
Ahmad said that the QCA was planning to send a strong national team to the ACC championship for which it will hold a selection trials to pick a bunch of talented players.
The selected players, who will have a glorious opportunity to represent Qatar in the international event, will undergo an intensive training camp after the selection, he added.
Ahmad, while laying down the selection conditions, said the players, who are born on and after September 1, 1998, will only be eligible for the trials.
Also they should be either born in Qatar or resident of Qatar for a minimum four years where only 2 players can qualify to participate as per ICC rules. The remaining players should have resident of 7 years in Doha. The trials camp will be held at West Bay Cricket ground on February 25 2017, at 2 pm
